Welcome to Relaxed Spider
The following details apply here. Relaxed Spider on alnucostco.com permits stock deals while columns are empty. Choose one suit, two suits or four suits using the game controls. The game still uses 104 cards in ten columns. The objective remains eight complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs.
Deal into empty columns
Here are the details for this mode. A stock card dealt to an empty column becomes that column's first face-up card. The relaxed stock rule does not change the rank requirement for ordinary moves. An empty column no longer prevents a stock deal in this variant. The relaxed stock rule does not allow mixed-suit groups to move together.
Read the opening
Here are the details for this mode. The first four columns have six cards each and the remaining six have five. The opening tableau contains 54 cards. Only the bottom card of each opening column is face up. The stock contains fifty cards for five later deals.
Move a single card
Keep these points in mind. An exposed card may land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. A King needs an empty destination because no rank is higher. The two cards do not need to share a suit for a single-card placement. An Ace cannot receive a lower-ranked card.
Move a group
Keep these points in mind. A break in rank prevents the entire selected group from moving together. Same-suit building can reduce the work needed to separate mixed sequences later. A descending group moves as a unit only when every selected card shares a suit. A suit change can leave a smaller movable group at the bottom of a column.
Keep space available
Keep these points in mind. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card. You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock. Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds.
Bring in another row
A few details help explain this feature. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns.
Collect matching runs
A few details help explain this feature. Changing the number of suits does not change the number of required runs. The game removes a complete run automatically at the bottom of a column. Eight collected runs are required to finish Relaxed Spider. A complete run contains thirteen face-up cards in one suit from King to Ace.
Try another decision
Here are the details for this mode. Random relaxed deals are not presented as guaranteed solvable. Hints identify legal options without guaranteeing a win. Replay restores the same shuffle for another attempt. New game creates a fresh shuffle in the selected suit setting.
Separate variant progress
A few details help explain this feature. Relaxed Spider keeps its saved games separate from standard Spider when saving is enabled. Each relaxed suit setting has its own current local game. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you turn saving off or clear local records. My Statistics displays relaxed starts and wins in separate rows.
